The frame begins long before the workshop. In wood grown over years, often decades. Grain, colour, fissures and tonal shifts are not applied; they are time made visible. Only a small part of the material survives the selection. What remains is chosen board by board, matched to the work, cut and joined by hand. No two profiles can be repeated. The frame does not surround the image as an accessory. It gives it structure, weight and a place in the room.
