LAND OF THE VIKINGS
Sculptures of Light and Time
This is not a beach. It is a threshold.
Black volcanic ground, ice, sea, mountain, stormlight — everything lies there like the aftermath of an ancient arrival. The ice fragments do not feel accidental. They read like sculptures of light and time: released by the glacier, carried by water, placed by the North on this dark edge of the world.
Captured in Iceland, in freezing temperatures and only a few hours of daylight, the image carries a silence that is not empty. It is charged. With cold, origin, movement, memory. To the left, the horizon glows like a last fire; to the right, the sky closes again over the land.
LAND OF THE VIKINGS is not a landscape photograph. It is an image about origin. About a coast where nature, myth and time fold into one another — raw, open, archaic.
A place before language. A land of ice, darkness and light. And somewhere within it, the echo of people who were closer to the sea than to themselves.
