NEBELLINIE ZWEI
Who needs more
Even less.
Apparently possible.
The landscape has almost disappeared. Fog has reduced it to a handful of lines, so fine that eventually you are no longer quite sure whether you are looking at coast, water, or simply the idea of them.
One line runs through the image.
It divides nothing.
It holds everything together.
Water becomes surface. Coast becomes drawing. The horizon makes one small gesture and decides that will do.
Very Japanese.
Very Nordic.
Surprisingly compatible.
NEBELLINIE ZWEI does not tell a story.
It creates a condition.
Calm. Distance. Breath.
Together with NEBELLINIE I, it forms a diptych in which the most important thing may be precisely what is no longer visible.
Fog, apparently, can be remarkably precise.
