When shape is enough
You see almost nothing.
A few centimetres of blue and orange. The rise of a fender. A line slipping out from behind the foliage.
And still the animal is immediately there.
That is what an icon can do. It no longer needs to show itself completely. The smallest fragment is enough to release the entire body in the mind: the low nose, the enormous power, the Gulf colours, the sound that belongs to them. Recognition arrives before sight.
PHANTOM 917 lives in this charged interval between hiding and knowing. The bush does not diminish the car. It sharpens its presence. What remains unseen becomes larger, faster, more dangerous.
The photograph gives us less — and therefore opens more.
