UNDERWATER FIREWORKS — FINALE
When Colour Breaks Loose.
Now everything comes loose.
What was order a moment ago becomes freedom.
The koi shoot apart, cross paths, disappear, return. Gold, red, white, black. Nothing is waiting to be in the correct place anymore.
Thankfully.
The water flickers, vibrates, dances. Colour becomes movement. Movement becomes light. And at some point, it is no longer entirely clear what is swimming and what is simply happening in your eye.
That is what a finale should do.
Not bigger.
Freer.
Nothing is held. No centre. No choreography still trying to impress anyone.
Just that brief moment when everything comes apart and, for precisely that reason, fits together.
UNDERWATER FIREWORKS — FINALE is the moment after holding your breath.
You let go.
So does the image.
And strangely, that is when most of it stays with you.
A good finale does not really end.
It echoes.
