ZEBRA CAR
Porsche 911 – Stripes in Motion
A 911 IN ZEBRA SKIN.
ALAMEDA APPARENTLY HAS ITS OWN DRESS CODE.
The California sun cuts the light into hard stripes and lays them across bodywork, asphalt and wall.
For a moment, no line belongs entirely to the car.
And none entirely to the architecture.
Everything crosses.
The 911 remains unmistakably a 911 — yet somehow looks as if it has briefly joined another species.
Not a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
More an animal in zebra skin.
ZEBRA CAR lives on that outrageous graphic collision: white against black, curve against straight line, bodywork against shadow.
The Porsche is not illustrated.
It is taken apart and put back together using nothing but light.
Alameda, 2019.
Early RBOOK days.
And a 911 that decided, for a few seconds, that camouflage was allowed to attract attention.
Composed for this format in Chalk Ash.
