A dark architectural mass anchors the frame with uncompromising gravity. Beyond it, the new World Trade Center rises with an almost immaterial precision, polished and aspirational, yet made fragile by the weight beside it.

The image refuses the comfort of a simple contrast between past and future. Progress and power occupy the same field, each altering the meaning of the other. What remains is not optimism, but consequence: a city looking upward because it has no other direction.

Limed European Ash

THE MATERIAL

European ash is finished with a pale limed surface that settles into its open pores. The treatment preserves the grain while giving the wood a clear, architectural luminosity.

WHY THIS EDITION

Chalk Ash completes this edition through structure rather than contrast. Its pale surface gives the image room while preserving a distinctly architectural character.

ATELIER FINISH

An ultra-matte black finish with a soft, almost rubberised appearance and exceptional visual depth. Developed exclusively for this work.
