OUT OF SEASON

THE POOL IS CLOSED.

Nature apparently didn’t get the memo.

A few apples have gone swimming. Leaves drift across turquoise tiles. Nobody arranged anything.

Which is precisely the point.

The geometry is strict. The rest rather less so: blue grid, red fruit, brown leaves, a little decay.

Summer has left.

In the pool, everything that had a good year comes together: apples, leaves, colour, a little decay.

A pool party after the season.

Nobody sent invitations.

OUT OF SEASON.

Sometimes the party only starts after the pool is closed.
